The National agency of perspective projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan -
is a state institution responsible for regulation, licensing, and permitting procedures in the sphere of crypto-assets turnover, capital market, insurance, e-commerce, lotteries and gambling activities.
The National Agency for Perspective Projects (hereinafter – the Agency) hosted a meeting with representatives of Meezan Bank, a leading Islamic bank in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Noor Financial Investment Company, a major Kuwaiti investment company.
Meezan Bank is Pakistan’s largest Islamic bank, headquartered in Karachi. The Bank operates in accordance with the principles of Sharia financing and offers a full range of banking products and services, including retail and corporate banking, financing, deposits, and other Sharia-compliant financial solutions.
Noor Financial Investment Company is a major Kuwaiti investment company operating in the financial services, investment and asset management sectors in Kuwait, the Middle East, Asia and other markets. The company is an important strategic investor and shareholder in Meezan Bank.
During the meeting, issues related to the prospects for the issuance and introduction of Islamic securities (sukuk) within the framework of new draft of the law “On the Capital Market” were considered. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue mutual cooperation and develop partnership relations, including the exchange of expertise in the field of Islamic securities (sukuk) issuance.
