The National Agency of Perspective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the Agency) reminds that as of 20 April 2024, the amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Administrative Liability Code, introduced by Act No. ZRU-899 “On amendments and additions to the Criminal, Criminal Procedure Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan and to the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, will enter into force.

In particular, measures of administrative and criminal liability for illegal crypto-assets turnover and illegal mining activities come into force.

To avoid prosecution, the Agency urges citizens to carry out transactions with crypto-assets in accordance with the procedure established by law, exclusively through national service providers in the sphere of crypto-asset turnover, as well as to carry out mining activities within the framework of the current legislation.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that the Agency will immediately transfer information on all known facts of violations of the legislation in the crypto-assets turnover field to law enforcement authorities for bringing the guilty parties to responsibility in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation.

The Agency recommends to strictly comply with the norms of legislation in the crypto-assets turnover sphere.
